Multiple chronic conditions are more common beyond the age of 40. This is due in part to the steady depletion of hormones in the aging system, but it can also be ascribed to our own lack of attention and care.
According to the National Health Interview Survey data from 2008, Asian Americans had a greater prevalence of diabetes mellitus (4.3-8.2%) than Caucasians (3.8-6 percent ). Diabetes prevalence was as high as 14% among some ethnic groups (e.g., South Asians). Despite the “model minority myth” that surrounds Asians, research suggests that many of them indulge in unhealthy habits. Only 17.8% of Asian Americans fulfilled the 2008 Federal Physical Activity Guidelines, while numerous Asian ethnic groups have higher smoking rates.

THE DOMINO EFFECT OF MULTIPLE ILLNESSES
One disease is frequently the outcome of another condition that has been ignored and mistreated for years.
This is known as the “Domino Effect” of several diseases, and it usually follows this pattern:
Blood pressure that is too high. This is the first sign that something isn’t quite right with your system. High blood pressure indicates that the heart is working extra to pump blood and nutrients out, but it is not doing so effectively.
Arthritis and/or joint pain are two common causes of joint discomfort. This will be the next symptom to appear. High blood pressure causes stiff joints by narrowing arteries and nerves while placing pressure on your heart. Blood and nutrients fail to sufficiently nourish your bones and cartilages, resulting in stiff joints.
Gout. The third step of the Domino Effect is a more intense inflammatory response to arthritis and joint pain that has already developed. It’s your body’s way of signaling that it needs your immediate treatment, and it’s doing so by displaying extremely visible symptoms such as red, sore, and obviously swollen joints.
Diabetes. When diabetes and blood sugar problems appear, it’s a sign that the pancreas is currently being harmed by a lack of adequate blood and nutrient circulation. It has become sluggish and is no longer producing enough insulin, indicating that you have developed an endocrine issue.
Problems with digestion. This is the final symptom of a larger systemic problem. When the digestive system is overworked, sluggish, or weakened in any way, it can indicate the presence of one or more underlying disorders.
You undoubtedly realize the necessity of recognizing a seemingly minor ailment early on, such as high blood pressure, and the implications of failing to do so. But how can Ayurveda help you if you’ve already got all of these diseases?
SYMPTOMS OF DOSHA IMBALANCE
Ayurveda understands, categorizes, and analyzes symptoms based on the dosha, or body type. The doshas, on the other hand, symbolize elements that exist in variable proportions within our bodies; when they are balanced, health is at its best.
Disease is just a symptom of an aggravated dosha, according to Ayurveda, hence several diseases suggest multiple aggravated doshas. Let’s take a closer look at the specific symptoms associated with each doshaaggravation:
Vata aggravation : Dehydration of the system, dry skin, ineffective joint lubrication, arthritis, weight loss, constipation, sleeplessness, tremors, overall physical weakness, and increased concern are all symptoms of Vata aggravation.
Pitta aggravation : Digestive issues (indigestion, acid reflux, lack of enzymes, etc. ), liver issues, irritability, sweating excessively (heat intolerance), fever, skin rashes, inflammation, swelling, excessive thirst and hunger, poor odour, yellow feces are all signs of Pitta aggravation.
Kapha aggravation : Obesity, bloating, swelling, coughing, asthma, varicose veins, excess urination, nausea, cold extremities, recurring fungal infections, depression, lymphatic congestion, and depression are all symptoms of Kapha aggravation.
You can see from these symptoms that each of the diseases we discussed earlier in the Domino Effect is caused by a separate dosha aggravation. When all of the doshas are inflamed to varied degrees, the system becomes engulfed in poison (ama), which is also linked to digestion (hence why digestive problems mark the final stage of the Domino Effect).
However, how is the system handled? And does Ayurveda treat one ailment at a time or all of them at once?
HOW TO REMEDY MULTIPLE ILLNESSES WITH THE AYURVEDIC PLAN
Regardless of the ailment, Ayurveda never prescribes “one-size-fits-all” treatments. At the YATAN Ayurvedic Centre, we provide the following choices in the case of various diseases:
An initial appointment during which we will check your symptoms and determine which doshas are affected. This first consultation can be done over the phone or by live video for individuals who are unable to attend a face-to-face appointment.
A therapeutic strategy based on your dosha and the internal doshas that need to be balanced. This plan could involve a variety of lifestyle changes, nutritional advice, and even the use of some of our goods.
A compounding combination of numerous Ayurvedic herbs that contains a sequence of cures or a series of remedies. In either case, the Ayurvedic practitioner will create it specifically for you.
Multiple ailments may necessitate a treatment regimen that lasts several weeks or months. As a result, additional follow-up sessions may be necessary. When seeing an Ayurvedic practitioner, you should also consider the following:
Your medical background.
Any medications you’re currently taking (as this will most likely counteract the all-natural Ayurvedic prescription).
The extent to which you can tolerate specific meals, spices, and herbs.
Any therapies you’ve had in the past, such as chemotherapy.
CONCLUSION
It’s critical to diagnose any illness early on, especially when complications and secondary disorders are a possibility.
There are several warning indicators along the process that you should not overlook, beginning with a spike in your blood pressure. Problems with the digestive system are the last signal your body sends to get your attention in the final stage.
